A new study suggests that contrary to most surveys, people are actually more stressed at home than at work.Researchers measured people’s cortisol, which is a stress marker, while they were at work and while they were at home and found it higher at what is supposed to be a place of refuge.(2015)
According to Paragraph 1, most previous surveys found that home .
[A]offered greater relaxation than the workplace
[B]was an ideal place for stress measurement
[C]generated more stress than the workplace
[D]was an unrealistic place for relaxation
通过题干提供的定位信息,我们定位到第一段,然而再通过题干中的“most previous surveys found that...”,我们就把目光定位到“A new study suggests that contrary to most surveys”,信息定位没有问题,接下来就是分析四个选项。在这个事实细节题中,考生很容易就将目光锁定在“people are actually more stressed at home than at work.” 相反”的意思,同样类似的搭配还有“by contrast”、“in contrast”及“in contrast to”。 A (offered greater relaxation than the workplace),原因就在于“与大多数的调查结果相反的...”,因此,与“more stressed at home than at work”相反的就是“home offered greater relaxation than the workplace”;C选项的命中率最高,因为是“more stressed at home than at work”的同义替换;B选项则是无关选项,,在这一段落中并未提到;而D选项在文中并未体现对比。
